Philomena was born to middle class parents. Her father was a respectable bank manager and was chair of the Aibo-on-the-Wold Residents Association. Her mother was the local school dinner lady.  Together they scraped enough money together to send Philomena to the St Aiberts’ Academy.  They hoped that the Wold's most acclaimed academic institution would give their daughter the best start in life. Her parents believe that their beloved only child ghost writes for  JK Rowling, whereas she actually digs up dirt on the rich and powerful for the Gazette newspaper.  Her parents would be distraught if they ever found out.
