Newton, Samuel Name: Samuel Newton, 12th Earl Of Tytherington The 12th Earl lead a long and exceptionally dull life. Born in 1880 he was a bit of a swot at school. He was a member of parliament from 1920 until 1923 when the other MPs asked him to stand down as he was too dull even for them. He married Amelia Newey, who was equally boring. She died shortly after her only child, Albert was born. One suspects that Albert’s cravings for excitement were borne out a dull childhood. The Earl died at the age of 97 having done almost nothing with his life at all |
